My dreambox's ip address is correct but the app does not work. Try The following steps

1. Disable Webif authentication (no username password require)
2. Check if the webif interface is enabled and works on my web browser.
3. Does it load the main Dreambox Remote Control page?
4. Clone or not?

Disable WebIf authentication (no username password required).

The first and foremost reason is the username and password. Some dreamboxs come with the webif authentication enabled. That restricts your device for remote zapping without username and password. Remember your device is only accessible within your local network so is safe to remove it.
Follow the steps to remove webif authentication and your remote control (android app) will work.

1. Use your conventional remote control and hit the menu button and then choose setup as shown in Figure 1 - Setup.

2. Move to expert setup and click OK as shown on Figure 2 - Expert Setup.

3.Scroll down by clicking the down arrow on your remote control and find the http authentication setting as shown in Figure 3 - http authentication.
Now you can see that the http authentication (webif) is enabled. Click OK while selected to disable / remove the setting.

4.Now your screen should be shown without the tick symbol, see Figure 4 - Authentication disabled.

Check if the web interface is enabled and works on my web browser.

1. Open up a web browser  (e.g. chrome or firefox or internet explorer) and type the IP address of your dreambox.

2. Hit Enter and wait for the page to load.

3. It should look like to the pictures bellow

Does it load the main Dreambox Remote Control page?

When you enter the ip address and the enigma version, you should tap on the save button. Does it take you to the main Dreambox Remote Control page when you tap on the save button? See picture bellow

Clone or Not?

1. Make sure that you have the original digital receiver and not a clone. The example bellow shows the original Dreambox 500 on the left hand side. Best way to find out is to "google it".

2. Try the following command in order to find out if your web interface is working. replace the ip_address with your dreabox's ip address. Copy paste the url into a web browser (e.g. firefox, chrome) and hit enter. it should change the channel on your TV. That is for Enigma 1 users.

3. If the above command does not work, then add the dreambox's username and password to the above command. The username is root and the default password is dreambox.
So for this example the command should be:

http://root:dreambox@<ip_address>/cgi-bin/zapTo?mode=name=zap&path=1:0:1:13d:157c:13e:820000:0:0:0:
